Never enough time

Why is it that when you need things to work out like they normally do, they don’t? I have a million things to get done today. I have to pack my stuff for the crop (Yea!), I have to get what seems like 5 tons of laundry done, pay bills, get Rowan’s stuff ready for her pictures tomorrow, change the water in my reef tank, scrounge up something to eat, and find the time for a shower somewhere. I had planned on getting all that done during Buddha’s nap this morning, (she normally sleeps from 8-1030), but it doesn’t look like its gonna happen. I say that because she’s sitting in my lap right now wide awake. *sigh*

Yesterday the morning nap kept getting interrupted by the phone constantly ringing, it threw her entire day off and she was cranky the W H O L E day. So today, I decided to just unplug the phone thinking that will help, it may have, but she’s just not in the mood for a nap apparently. She always naps during this time, has for weeks consistently, so what’s up with this no napping business today, I wonder.
And now for your cuteness of the day…

I'm addicted to stickers, I’ll admit. It all started in 1983, the year I started school. Mrs. Smith (the awesomest teacher ever), put one on my first assignment after grading it. It was one of those super cool puffy stickers, you know the kind, you just can't stop touching it. From there I amassed hordes of stickers...puffy ones, smelly ones, glittery ones, etc. But as I got older I began to have to hide my addiction because it’s not cool for teenagers (and beyond) to be all into stickers. Right? So, as the years went by my heart grew cold from lack of stickers...just kidding. But seriously, I’d always end up at Hobby Lobby or some craft type store and drool at all the different kinds of awesome stickers. Oh how I wished I had somewhere to use them, legitimately of course. Enter my friend Misty. A few weeks back she was showing me some of her amazing scrapbooks and I was thinking “wow I wish I could be that creative”. Later that evening it clicked…Stickers!! A purpose for my stickers! Mwwaahhhaaaaa! My addiction flared back to life!

The very next day I was off to Hobby Lobby who, thankfully, was having a 50% sale on all their scrapbooking supplies, including stickers! So I started on my very first scrapbook kit (read: ready-made) and tweaked it with my own stickers, the super awesome puffy ones of course! It was cute, very tame, not very difficult because of the whole “ready-made” bit. I found that I got bored with those very quickly. I was yearning to branch out onto my creativeness, or lack thereof, whatever the case may be. So I went back out to the stores and purchased insane amounts of paper, cardstock, stickers and supplies.

While out shopping for the above items, my partner in crime (the aforementioned Misty) suggested that we participate in the next Crop Night. Every Friday night from 6 to midnight is crop night at our local scrapbooking store. Six straight hours where you can work on your pages, food is provided, an entire store full of material at your fingertips, what’s not to love about that? Then it occurred to me, this is in public…in public…with people who are really, really creative. Can you feel my panic? I have no freaking idea what the heck I’m doing here, I’m just a sticker junkie trying to feed my addiction. So I sat down to plan my pages out ahead of time, this way I could only take what was necessary. After all I don’t want to get carried away with my cheesy-ness in a public setting. I decided on doing pages from Halloween’s past. I pulled out the photo’s, cardstock and ribbons and shoved the huge box of Halloween stickers under it all. In all the “planning” the stickers kept beckoning to me from under the pile. When I pulled them out to choose the few that I’d be taking with me, the monster took over. Three hours later, I had two pages done…pages from scratch, I might add. They are about 95% sticker, but in all fairness I only had two photo’s from that year anyway, so I had to fill the page with something. Without a doubt though, I HAVE BEEN UNLEASHED!!! Man, I can’t wait until Friday! I’ll try to attach a photo of the pages so you can see just what I’m talking about.

All kinds of construction

Okay, so i'm finally getting around to getting this blog up and running, but i'm doing it during Miss Ro's naptimes.  Which of course translates into "will be finished next year".  Please overlook the construciton dust, handiwipes will be handed out upon exit.
